11 Ways to Beat Your Fear of Public Speaking

11 Ways To Beat Your Fear Of Public Speaking

11 Ways To Beat Your Fear Of Public Speaking

We all have fears that we want to overcome.

However, fear is the natural reaction of our brain regarding an upcoming danger.

The body and mind react to Danger using something called “Fight or Flight”

It’s normal to have fear when you are standing on the edge of the high peak of the mountain, or when you see a big forest fire that is moving toward you. That’s when our mind cry’s FLIGHT!

However, it’s not natural to have fear when you speaking in front of people.

It’s normal to be nervous to some degree but not to feel scared to death.

So, how can you overcome this type of fear?

Here are the long-awaited 11 Ways To Beat Your Fear Of Public Speaking.

  1. First of all, you must have a very Strong Intention (Not a Desire!) to do so.
  2. You must put Action into place.
  3. Prepare your speech to 100%. Know your speech so perfectly that if someone wakes you in the middle of a night and asks you to present your speech, you can do it right away. Knowing your speech well will provide important self-confidence.
  4. Present your speeches in front of an audience as often as possible. The more speeches you present, less scary it becomes!
  5. Present 10 of your speeches in front of a small audience. Only after that should you go to speak to a larger audience with the same confidence.
  6. Boost your self-confidence by speaking aloud: saying, “I don’t care about this upcoming event!”

Your Doubt might say: “The big people are going to be in the audience.”

Repeat aloud to yourself many times: “I don’t care, so what? I will prepare very well and practice every day, all will be fine.

This is different from ignoring your fear.

7. Do your best, practice at home every day and be prepared well with your speech, this knowledge will release your fear and will give self-confidence.

8. Enjoy yourself!  Yes, you will present your speech…and what so special about it? It’s a NEW normal thing for you.

9. Say your affirmations aloud to yourself when you relaxed and calm at home.    Change your fear to excitement. Fear and excitement are actually the same feelings. Every time you feel afraid, you can feel EXCITED instead. How?

Take a deep breath, and smile with a big happy smile, then start moving around, back and forth. This way you will get excitement and relief by doing exercise such a walking, or stand in one place and bring your arms all the way down, that you can touch your feet easily. Do it until you feel good and fear has left you. This technique works because you actually combine deep breathing, smiling and exercising all in one at the same time. It works, you will see.

10. Distract yourself with Humor. When you know your speech 100% and for no reason get afraid before you go to the stage, distract yourself, go and talk with someone about something not related to your speech. Joke around and talk funny so that you can laugh and make someone laugh along with you. A good joke and a good laugh prior to your speech will help you relax and create a positive & fearless mood.

Intuition

7 Ways To Develop Your Intuition For Your Life & Career Success.

I could, I felt, I should, I sensed…

Aren’t you familiar with these thoughts?

Albert Einstein once said: “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

A while ago my family and I moved into a new house.
It was after midnight. Everyone, including my two little sons, was sleepy.
And I had just finished my work and was flat tired and about going to sleep.
All of a sudden, a funeral melody came into my head and was playing in a loop until I paid attention to it.
I asked myself: why does this funeral melody keep playing in my head?

I started feeling anxiety and pushed myself to go all the way downstairs to the kitchen.

And what I saw there I will always remember.

My brand new stove was very red and showed a temperature of 500F.
My sleeplessness vanished in the wink of an eye.
I pressed the off button but it didn’t work. I pressed again and again and it still didn’t work.

Like a wild kangaroo, I jumped up the stairs to wake up my husband.
And to wake him up, not an easy task.
It’s like to try awake a person with anesthesia.
But I didn’t have time to use my megaphone.

In frustration, I yelled straight to his ear: Fire, fire, help!

Gladly, after a few seconds of yelling, he Like a bullet flew to the kitchen.

He tried to turn it off but the button still didn’t work.

And the stove already was very red, hot and ready to explode.

He pulled the stove from the wall and unplugged the cord, saving the night.

If my intuition hadn’t sent me that funeral melody my family and I may not be alive.

What is intuition?

Intuition is an energy, a vibration that is inside of the right side of your brain.

The good news, everyone has the ability to be intuitive.

How can you develop your intuition? There are a number of ways, and I would like to share some techniques with you:

1. Be relaxed and open.
You can achieve it through meditation, deep breathing.

2. What is your heart says? Say it aloud and wait for an answer, only don’t analyze and the answer will pop up in your head.

3. Trust your intuition. Don’t figure it out. Don’t judge. You have to believe & trust your intuition.
If something inside of you tells you that you walk away from this work, from this boss, from this man or woman. Don’t wait. Do that ASAP.

4. How can you know that intuition comes to you?
Intuition can come in fragments, pieces, symbols, dreams (you might hear a voice, you may have a feeling, you might hear music.)

5. How can you recognize the intuition?
Watch for signs outside of you. (It might be the license plate you happened to see, it might be an Earth Angel )
An Earth Angel is somebody who comes to you at an urgent time and gives lifesaving advise.
Sometimes at the library book falls from the shelf right in front of you, pick it up and there is a message for you.
And the message is repetitive.
So, you have to be aware!

6. Trigger your Intuition by asking a question aloud.
It will stimulate your intuition. Something will pop up.

7. Let It Go To Receive.
If you ask a question you have to let it go.
Like in a good restaurant, you just put your order and let it go, it will come shortly.

The most successful people after all the calculations, advise of their big and sophisticated team, always ask their intuition before making a final decision.
Why wouldn’t it be you?
We all in life making choices. The most important choices are: about our career, our health, and our personal life.
Knowing when to leave the job you hate, the person who makes you sick, which doctor to trust is the most challenging part of making major life change no matter how happy or disgruntled you may be in your current situation.
However, listening to your intuition may help you resolve all of your issues and help you confidently decide your next move.

Whatever the decision you have to make, give your intuition a chance to guide you in your choices.
Are you depleted with your career, personal life, your health or is there some resilience, motivation, and spirit left?
Learn to listen to your intuition and it will help to make your best decisions in your life.

If you are just starting out in working with your intuition it is important to practice!
Commit an hour a day, listening to your deep self and get all the answers.
As you move through the day, stay open-minded to the people, conversations and things you meet or see.
Start doing something new you never did before.
Take notes of your observations, both physically and emotionally. How are you feeling? What new sensory experiences are you having?
Apply these learnings to your career, your daily life and trust the intuitive guidance.
You have the greatest power in your mind.
All you have to do is start using it.
And you will be able to craft the life you want and your biggest friend, your intuition will help you to achieve that.

When you will learn how to use your intuition you’ll never be poor, have a bad boss you hate, have troubles in your life, everything will fall in place and you begin to meet with the right people, at the right time and at the right places.

Be relaxed, open and honest with yourself
And intuition will come to you.

7 Ways To Improve Your Communication Skills As A Filmmaker

How your communication skills can help you land the work of your dream in the film industry?

In the film industry, which is a very small industry, everyone knows everyone: who is good & reliable, and who you want to avoid working with.

This is unspoken, but everyone knows that.

Especially in this industry a good filmmaker’s reputation is a BIG thing.

If you recommended yourself as a good, skillful filmmaking professional, with great communications skills, everyone will want to hire you.

You should always keep that in your mind.

Communication skills is very important.

If you don’t have good communication skills and consider yourself as a great filmmaker, people will not hire you, simply because in the middle of the long and tiring production, no one wants to deal with person with it whom it is difficult to communicate, who easily gets upset and performs unreliably because of his/her moods.

How can you learn to communicate everything in a quick and efficient, polite and respectful manner, in the middle of long & chaotic production, on the fly, and also tired people?

Here are 7 ways to improve your communication skills:

  1. Learn how to listen to others, without interrupting them. Because people want to know that they are being heard. Really listen to what the other person is saying, instead of formulating your response. The person you are talking to will notice it in your eyes.
  2. Who you are talking to matters. Be polite and respectful to anyone you are talking with: your boss, your family, or a crew member. Use formal language when you are talking to you boss and colleagues.
  1. Body Language is important, it is 55 % of your communication. Keep you gestures open, and remember to maintain eye contact, to show your attention.
  2. Be brief and specific. You have to practice being brief, yet specific enough, that you can provide enough information for the other person to understand what you want to tell him.
  3. Think before you speak. Pause before you speak, and pay close attention to what you say, and how you say it.
  4. Be polite and treat everyone with respect, especially when you are angry, tired or impatient. If you can’t, then take a break and tell them why.
  5. Always have a positive attitude and smile. When you smile and you have a positive attitude, people will respond positively to you.

So, where can you learn and practice all these skills?

Find a Toastmasters Club near you.

There you will learn and polish all communication skills that will help you to become a better communicator and a successful filmmaker.
